Good morning! I'm Scarletta Vendetta, based out of Aether on Midgardsormr, where I've lived since 2.0. I am the founder of The Aether Entertainer Newspaper and runner up on season 1 of Eorzea's Got Talent! I've tried to stay involved in the (FFXIV) publishing scene as much as I can, especially when it comes to charitable causes, entertainment, or Eorzean pop culture. I even did a stint as a columnist and event manager for Eorzean Illustrated Magazine and held a position as executive editor at Lodestone Magazine. Though I am most active in the writing and RP scene, I also enjoy end game raiding and performing as a bard a few times per week.

Although a shy wallflower, Scarletta loves writing, photography, modeling, playing music, meditation, tattooing, and going to entertainment events. She moved away from her Free Company in Limsa Lominsa to Shirogane to be closer to the city in hopes that her newspaper and cafe' would florish. Her other favorite things include fashion, vacationing in exotic places, black coffee, healing magic, herbalism, live music, and her fat cat companion, Jerry.
She has been to many places but holds a special place for The Shroud in her heart.

Scar'let grew up in the moonlight of The Black Shroud in a large Keeper of the Moon clan. Her lineage includes a rich line of successful high-ranking members of the Archer’s guild. She has 5 sisters. She is the youngest except for her twin, Vee, who is younger by six minutes. Her four eldest sisters live and serve in the ranks of the Archer’s Guild in New Gridania. The twins are the products of her mother’s love affair with a Seeker of the Sun traveling merchant from Gyr Abania. Unlike Vee, who has white hair and a pale complexion, Scar'let has the traits of her Seeker father. This immediately makes her an outcast in the Keeper tribe. Her mother would try to protect her by concealing her in the hut while only taking her sister, Vee, out to meet the other clan members. When Scar'let was finally introduced, she was teased and rejected by most. Rejection was made worse when she displayed only average ability at archery and a distaste for hunting and killing. She did not make the cut to enter the archer’s guild even though Vee did. She did, however, retain a love of barding and playing music. Scar'let would express her emotions through writing songs and keeping a diary. She found solace in written words that helped her endure.While her sisters went to school for hunting and trapping, she studied botany and alchemy and became an expert of The Black Shroud fauna. The other kids would tease her for her lack of skill with a bow and for having an interest in alchemics and gardening. Scar'let was an accomplished alchemist at a young age, thanks in part to her meticulous recording and journaling of her research and ingredients. When she was 12, her mother decided that it was best that she opened a herbal stand in the Gridanian city markets where she would sell the medicines and edibles she had grown in their backyard. Her salves and remedies were a much-needed comfort for the people of Gridania. Her shop quickly grew in popularity and would routinely sell out early in the day. Scar'let refused to go home early for fear of being bullied by her sisters or their friends. She would insist to her mother that it took all day to sell the products so she could spend more time in the city. She would assist the other merchants to sell their goods or aide the less fortunate people of the Gridanian streets. As she grew up, Scar'let became well known in the markets as a paradigm of compassion and selflessness.It was at on her 16th birthday when a member of the conjurer’s guild approached her remedy stand. He felt someone with her passion for aiding others should be put to a better use…so for the next several years she closed her shop early (unbeknownst to her mother) and began to study the healing arts in secret at the Lotus Stand Conjurer Guild. Although she got a late start learning white magic, she possessed some natural ability and with her skills at recording accurate information, she quickly mastered spells that surpassed even her preceptors. She felt like she was making an impact in the Shroud but she desired more. Scar'let realized that she had a passion for helping people. She began to ponder her new life’s mission…When she was 18 she was offered a scholarship to further her healing studies at the Univeristy of Limsa Lominsa. When she told her mother the truth of where she had been and her future endeavors she was disowned from the clan. She accepted the scholarship, and to make a lasting impression on the people of Gridania, she published a recipe book of her medicines, under the alias Scarletta Vendetta, and handed it out along with the rest of her shop’s stock for free to the people on the streets.Being in a new city was unnerving for Scar'let who had never had friends before. She was shy and lacked confidence. While on campus one day she overheard some of her classmates talking about signing up for a Free Company and the benefits it would provide. She wanted to make friends and felt that she needed others support to be successful in her goals. She decided to sign up to trial for a Free Company of adventurers, Curia Regis - under the alias Scarletta Vendetta. CR resides on coasts of the Mist near the city of Limsa where she was studying. After a rigorous effort to get accepted, they determined that they were impressed by her skills as a medic. Scarletta moves into the Free Company estate and for the next several years they support her studies and help her hone her abilities as a healer. After mastering the healing arts, Scarletta took a graduation trip the vibrant city of Kugane where she found an interest in high fashion and the entertainment industry. The bustling city raised her morale and renewed her faith in Eorzea. She determines that she wants to use her talents as a writer to spread news of happiness and liveliness throughout the continent. She develops aspirations to start a news column covering current events and happenings.Scarletta sought out a home location where she can continue in her work as both a writer and a healer. After much deliberation she moves into her own estate at Shirogane Hidden Shores. The estate is set on natural geothermal hot springs and offers the perfect environment for an expansive arboretum. Scarletta uses the property to open AE Cafe' to help support her newspaper 'The Aether Entertainer'. She is still an active member of the Curia Regis and has a private dwelling at the Free Company’s beachfront estate. Whenever she is in Limsa Lominsa, she can be found hanging out in the courtyard or on the deck overlooking the ocean.

"Eorzea is a rugged place where everything you have can be taken in an instant. It's been six years since I lost him, but I still think about it like it was yesterday. I still replay that moment in my head and see his face in my sleep. Even as I write this, I can hear him laughing and saying my name... Every time I hear that damn song, it rips me into pieces. I know it's probably not healthy. It's the one thing I still haven't felt comfortable talking to my therapist about. Perhaps I am afraid of what she will say, or maybe I am unwilling to admit that I have unresolved grief. She's always saying that we all must learn to cope with loss. Would sharing my story help others realize that they are not alone?"

  • I play guitar for most songs because other instruments are boring. I tend to make all songs sound kind of rock-ish.

  • I usually play whatever I feel like playing, which means I can go from Metallica to Backstreet Boys, but If there is a certain vibe you're going for please let me know!
